1. National Insitute of Disaster Management (NIDM) organized a five days training programme on "Chemical (Industrial) Disaster Management" from 16-20 August, 2010 at the premises of the Institute, which was attended by around 25 officers from transport, factories & boilers, labour, environment and disaster management department of different states NIDM invited Sh. H.S. Das, Joint Director (SHE) AMAI, and he conducted a session on Chlorine Transportation Emergency Network in Gujarat on 18th August, 2010.
2.PAT Awareness Programme by EVI (Emergent Ventures India Pvt. Ltd.) being organized on 16th, 17th, 18th August, 2010 in Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi respectively. Interested Members may write to AMAI by 9th August, 2010.
3. Safeguard duty on imports of Soda Ash from China, extended for another one year @ 16%, valid upto 19th April 2011.
4. Fresh case of Imposition of Antidumping duty on Caustic Soda imports from Taiwan, Thailand & Norway initiated vide notification dt. 31/05/2010.
5. Midterm Review case of imposition of Antidumping duty on Caustic Soda Imports from South Korea (including Hanwha), USA and Saudi Arabia initiated on 8th June, 2010.
6. A new AMAI publication "List of Recognized environmental Laboratories & Goverment Analysts" (as on 31.03.2010) as approved by GOI, MOEF, is now available in AMAI Library, free of cost. Member Units may request for a copy, as per their requirment.
7. AMAI instituted Sir Shriram Award for Best Managed Chlor-Alkali Plant and Darbari Seth Award for Best Managed Soda Ash Plant. First Award for the year 2009 was presented in the Award Function scheduled on 30th April, 2010 at New Delhi. The Honorable Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Srikant Kumar Jena was the Chief Guest of the function and presented Awards to the winners, DCW Ltd. (Caustic Soda) and GHCL Ltd. (Soda Ash).
8. AMAI organised Two day Seminar on "O & M of Captive Power Plants" on 12-13th March, 2010 at DCW Ltd., Sahupuram. Around 60 Participants attended the Seminar to mark the event, a success.
9."Vendors Directory for Chlor-Alkali Plants & Machineries 2010" now available with the Association..
10. Three Video films on Chlorine Safety prepared by AMAI have been distributed to Members and Members/Non-Members may request for a priced copy.
11. "AMAI Brochure" Published, circulated widely and is available free of cost with the Associaton.
12. Another publication by AMAI is "Pamphlet on Chlorination of Drinking water" is available with the Association, free of cost.
